About IT IN BUSINESS

Established 2006. Still a small number of clients, on purpose.

IT IN BUSINESS is an independent managed IT provider. We build and maintain reliable, modern business IT for companies in London and the sites they run elsewhere. We work with a limited number of clients so that the engineers know each business by heart, and the service stays personal.

Why partner with us

Our strength is a plain one: we take responsibility for what we are asked to look after, and we go the extra mile when it counts. That has kept clients with us for a long time, and it is why most new work comes by recommendation.

We invest in our own infrastructure and tools so that the engineers have what they need to look after your systems, and we stay close to what is new in technology without making you the experiment.

Why an agreement rather than a call when it breaks

Someone who only comes when it breaks sees each fault once. Someone who runs your systems sees the pattern, and stops the next one before anyone rings. That is the whole point of the monitoring, the patching and the roadmap: fewer bad days, not faster fixes on bad days.

Against hiring in-house

A provider costs less than a person for most companies of 10 to 200 people: no recruitment, no holidays, sick days, national insurance or training, predictable spend, and a range of skills no single hire has. Where you already have an IT person, we are the second and third line behind them, not a replacement.

The honest downside, and what we do about it

Outsourcing can mean less control, poor communication and no direct access to the people doing the work. Our answers: no first line, so you speak to the engineer; one contact who knows your business; and the portal, where you see every ticket, every hour and every order as we do.

What you get

  • Simplicity and straightforwardness, at every level
  • Senior engineers, no first line, one point of contact
  • Tested and proven technology, not the latest fashion
  • Total transparency: you see the hours, the orders and the invoices
  • Security and continuity built in, not sold as extras
  • A proactive, all-inclusive approach within an agreement that flexes with you
  • Third parties dealt with for you
  • Support for the sites you have overseas

Responsibility first

We take every precaution to keep your systems running, and full responsibility for everything we are asked to monitor and maintain.

Tools, processes and people

Our own UK datacentre, our own tooling, and engineers who have seen most things before.

How we work

An engineer decides. The assistant does the running around.

Senior engineer

Decides, fixes, explains, and owns the outcome.

Assistant

Logs, checks, chases, and keeps the record straight.

The same job, both sides. An engineer decides; the assistant does the running around.
